In collaboration with the Institute of Fisheries Management, BUG hosted a one day workshop in Hull on 19th October 2018 to discuss lamprey conservation monitoring. Lamprey experts from throughout the UK and Ireland were brought together to discuss current monitoring guidance, undertake a method appraisal of existing and developing sampling techniques, identify and prioritise key research needs and discuss the future direction of lamprey monitoring in the UK.

The workshop was run by BUG’s Adrian Pinder and Andy Harrison, with support from the Institute of Fisheries Management. The information and data collected during the day will be collated and analysed, and outputs will be disseminated via various channels.
